Recent experience: Fiona has most recently been the programme director developing a new commissioning support unit in the South of England.  Prior to that she was the interim executive director for Kent & Medway Cancer Network for over three years.  Fiona has also held a lead role for Mental Health Contracting and Commissioning on behalf of Kent & Medway.

Career: Her career to date has focused primarily on the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors, working for the Department of Health, numerous NHS organisations, Medeva PLC, Sandoz Pharma AG and SmithKline Beecham. Earlier her career began in clinical research, where she became Head of Clinical Development before gaining wider, international business and project management experience.

Achievements: Fiona led a £1 billion project for the Commercial Directorate of the Department of Health, managing national contracts for the Independent Sector Treatment Centre programme. Fiona has led strategy and systems development for a pan-European start-up company, and steered the development of a new pharmaceutical formulation that was successfully submitted to the US Federal Drug Agency ahead of schedule.

Education: PhD from University College London and BSc at Queen Mary College, University of London.
